Dry, Itchy, Irritated & Sunburnt Skin In Summer?

Figure 1: It shows a beautiful lady sunbathing on a Greek island under the hot, dry but gorgeous Greek Sun on the Majestic Greek Aegean Sea…

Summer means a lot of fun spending more time outdoors. However, the more time we spend under the hot sun, the higher the chances to develop dry, itchy, irritated and sunburnt skin.

Dry, Itchy, Irritated or Sunburnt Skin: When outdoors in summer, either air is hot and humid, or hot and dry, you can still have dry, itchy and irritated skin. The biggest skin problems happen when spending time in the sun, ocean, and pool, but also indoors in an air-conditioned environment.

Lucky you, there a few simple steps that you can take to protect your skin and enjoy the beautiful summer hot days.

Skincare Routines Recommended by Dr. Mel Glamor, PhD to reduce dry, itchy, irritated and sunburnt skin:

Routine in the morning:

    1. At least 30 minutes before you go outside, cleanse your face with an anti-oxidant hydrating cleaner, like our: Peptide Sea Purity Cleanser,
    2. Apply a concentrated Vitamin C serum that also contains Vitamin E, sea algae firming peptides, like our Luxe Concentrate Serum,
    3. Next, apply an anti-aging day moisturizer sunscreen SPF 40 broad spectrum, like our Revitalizing Cream Sunscreen SPF 40 broad spectrum,
    4. Water Resistant Sunscreen: Always apply a water resistant sunscreen SPF 40 broad spectrum at least every 2 hours while swimming, running or sweating outdoors,
    5. Wear a hat with wide brim, and sun UVA and UVB protecting, long sleeve light clothing
    6. Avoid being outdoors under the sun between 10 am in the morning and 5 pm in the evening.

Routine at night:

 Indoors & Air Conditioning:

    1. If you work or spend most of the time indoors and your skin is still dry, itchy and irritated, then you need to turn up the thermostat (increase the temperature) of your air-conditioning since it is the air-conditioning that makes your house too dry!

DermatologistIt is a good idea to periodically visit a Dermatologist, MD for a regular skin check up...
