Figure: A young lady with oily skin.
Several of my female customers have oily / combo skin and they asked me to share my recommendations to address their oily skin troubles. Oily skin can be either genetically driven, or sometimes a medical condition, or often the use of wrong skincare routines, which can irritate skin, which then produces more “oil”.
Check Out Below Some Of My Recommendations:
Tip 1: Wash Your Skin Gently: Use a soothing, anti-aging cleanser like my Peptide Sea Purity Cleanser, and avoid harsh cleansers. Harsh cleansers disrupt your skin’s barrier, which triggers the release of more oil to keep your skin conditioned.
Tip 2: Use Noncomedogenic Skincare Products: This means that products like cleansers, serums, moisturizers and makeup should not clog your pores or cause acne. Example of one of my several Noncomedogenic products is: Day Moisturizer, Revitalizing Cream Sunscreen, Day Moisturizer SPF 40
Tip 3: Use an anti-aging serum that mattifies oily skin, or hydrates & calms your oily skin: Do not use any kind of serums, but only those that mattify & calm oily skin & reduce irritation, like my: Dynamic Antioxidant Serum. Also, if your oily skin is dehydrated, then you can use a high quality, hyaluronic acid serum like my: Ultimate Plumping Serum.
Tip 4: Choose the right moisturizer: If your skin is dehydrated and oily, then you will need a hydrating moisturizer that contains humectants, and occlusives that seal water to maintain your skin barrier at good shape and help control oil production like my: Tightening Night Cream, which contains an advanced Retinoid (derivative of Retinol), which is good for oily skin.
